One of the reasons we #lovenorwich is because of the amazing selection of charity, vintage and antique stores scattered throughout the city. Whilst the usual high street shops are great, there’s nothing quite like finding the perfect, unique vintage piece and at a very good price. And if you’re in a charity shop, then you also have the benefit of your money going to a good cause! While exploring Norwich’s little lanes and streets, you can come across some of the most wonderful places. Here, we want to highlight some of our favourites. If you have any others you think deserve a shout out, let us know about them on our Facebook or Twitter accounts!
Retreat Vintage, situated just down the road from us on Magdalen Street, is a haven for genuine vintage items from the 1940s, 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s. They’re described as a vintage shop that’s ‘more punk than Cath Kidson’ and are happy to help you if you are looking for something in particular. They recently celebrated their 4th birthday, and RV is a wonderful place to find unique, genuine vintage items.
A family run business that launched in 2010, Goldfinches Vintage is a delightful shop that has a wide range of vintage accessories and garments. The shop offers the option of online shopping, with ordering and click and collect services. Find them in St Gregorys Alley.
Situated in Anglia Square, Back In Time has affordable women and men’s clothing from 1930s to the 1980s. It has been described by customers as having a ‘Camden feel’. Who needs to head to London’s famous market, when you can explore Back In Time!
A charity shop on Magdalen Street, Save The Children is an ‘international NGO and charity striving to help support and protect children in developing countries. Save the Children focuses on tackling child hunger, providing access to education and advancing the rights of children around the world.’ You can find some excellent pieces amongst the donations here, while helping children at the same time.
Sense helps deafblind people and has a wide array of donated furniture, antiques, collectables and clothing, DVDS and household items. The Norwich shop in Anglia Square has a great selection of items where you can always find something unique to buy.
